Founded in 2007, Indego Africa is a nonprofit social enterprise propelling the creation, growth, and sustainability of women-owned businesses in Africa. From the fine raffia weaving in their bags to the woodcarving in their homewares, the brand provides women and youth with the vocational skills, business know-how, and pipeline to global markets to become self-sufficient entrepreneurs. Crafted with bolga weaving, which has been practiced by Ghanian artisans for centuries, the Bolga Tote is durable, lightweight, and offers generous capacity. With lattice detailing woven around the entire side of the bag is an ideal size to hold all of your necessities, and makes a statement too.

Product Details

Before weaving, the grass is prepared by hand-splitting, twisting, and softening with water, a process that takes about a week to complete. Impact

The artisan sector is the second largest employer in the developing world. Yet the majority of artisans are women who lack access to export markets, business skills, and the financial tools needed to run successful, global enterprises.

We are dedicated to changing that by investing 100% of our profits into education programs for the women who handcraft our products and youth in their communities. Since 2007, we've provided over 1,100 artisans and 250 young people in Rwanda & Ghana with employment opportunities, entrepreneurship training, and consistent access to the global export market.

That's Impact.
