A Quality Silk Small Top Hat. Made by Lincoln Bennett & Co Hatters, Piccadilly London. With a band stitched in place and upturned brim with black edging, the leather lining band is hand stitched in place, stamped By Appointment to H.M the King. A cream leather band and the cream satin silk lining, with only traces of wear. C1920 Lincoln Bennett & Co were the company was a leading maker of gentleman’s headwear in the 19th and early 20th centuries. The firm was sold off in the aftermath of WWII at a time when wearing hats were diminishing as a societal convention, and hats were no longer produced in the brand’s name after the 1980s. Lincoln Bennett & Co’s hats were of such quality that the firm became a royal supplier. Dimensions inside brim: 15cm ear to ear, front to back 18.5cm The hat is in amazing quality however the box is not so good. Age hasn't been kind but it is original.
